7Summits Camp is founded on the belief that healthy decision-making & problem-solving skills provide the foundation for long term development, growth, and success of young people in today's society. By focusing our programs on the development and reinforcement of character development, all 7Summits Camp activities utilize adventure & experience as tools in the learning process. It is our hope, that in the provision of carefully chosen activities, children will develop the character necessary to make healthy, independent, and self-reliant decisions throughout their camp experience and subsequently, throughout their lives.
The 7 Summits

Friendship    Cooperation    Risk-taking    Trustworthiness    Respect    Responsibility    Community

Friendship: Staff continually nurture a compassionate, supportive & kind atmosphere throughout the camp experience that encourages the development of friendships among campers.

Cooperation: Campers will be encouraged to take turns, plan, share, be open-minded, use good communication skills, take on leadership roles, and solve problems in healthy, non-violent ways throughout the camp experience.

Risk-taking: By providing campers the opportunity to take safe & healthy risks, they are encouraged to explore their own limits & boundaries.

Trustworthiness: Children learn and practice how to be honest, reliable & loyal while participating in a variety of team-building and high adventure activities.

Respect: Children are taught the value of respecting the unique talents, strengths & differences within themselves, others, and the natural world.

Responsibility: Children are encouraged to persevere, be accountable for decisions, practice self-discipline, consider consequences of individual & team decisions, and commit to being at their best throughout the week.

Community: We strive to create a sense of community by encouraging cooperation among campers, a sense of responsibility for the environment, and an awareness of the importance of each individual's role in the larger community. Campers will also participate in a 2 - 4 hour service project each week.
