As with all Summit Vision programs, 7Summits Camp believes that the physical, social, and emotional safety of all campers is the most important component of the camp experience! Campers who feel safe, supported, nurtured, and respected are more willing to take risks, stretch their boundaries, and open their minds to new challenges. In order to insure a safe experience, all 7Summits Camp activities follow specific procedural and safety guidelines that are at or above established industry standards for challenge course programs. Staff members with the appropriate certification and training are present at all times during prescribed camp activities including: kayaking, archery, high ropes & climbing tower programs.

Parents' Frequently Asked Questions About Safety

How safe are the high ropes, zip line, giant swing, and climbing tower programs?

7Summits Camp staff are trained and certified only after completing extensive training that takes into consideration both the physical & technical safety components of challenge course programs & the emotional & social safety of participants. They must demonstrate emergency rescue skills yearly & always work with a partner to insure double checks on equipment, procedures, and safety guidelines.

What if my child is afraid of heights and s/he doesn't want to participate?

We follow a "choose your challenge level" philosophy. Campers are encouraged to challenge themselves at their own level. They are given multiple opportunities to set goals & exceed their personal expectations. Campers are never coerced, cajoled, or manipulated into participating in any event.

What safety equipment do you use?

All of our equipment is inspected just prior to use and maintains a breaking strength of 5,000 pounds! Campers will wear a harness &, helmet & be attached to a safety system by rope at all times.
